## Changes

- **macOS startup**: preserves the official startup sequence, avoiding overlapping launch ownership and stale-owner delays that can disrupt language, onboarding, and window-control initialization.
- **Natural close cleanup**: the private window's red close button stops its owned process and removes the isolated session; minimizing preserves the window.
- **Official notifications and tooltips**: banners and launch warnings reuse Codex components, styles, and animations. The banner follows the current home composer; tooltip preparation shares source reads and renderer capabilities.
- **Unified hat rendering**: the original hat-glasses lines use a single path, inheriting host color and opacity across installed and standalone open entry points.
- **Windows startup hardening**: retains pending opens until actual readiness, tolerates optional UI delays, and preserves the running official app if injection fails. Store package-change recovery adds bounded diagnostics and stronger package and Runtime identity checks.
- **Concurrent Windows cache publication**: retries temporary directory-handle sharing violations within one bounded window. Existing cache contents are still verified; persistent contention fails safely.

## Upgrade

Run `inc update` for the CLI and Runtime. An older patched macOS app also needs `incodex uninstall`, then `incodex install`, to replace its loader and use the startup fix.

Windows app integration adds an experimental current-user login observer; `incodex uninstall` removes that entry and stops it. See the [upgrade guide](/incodex/en/updates/).

## Limitations in this release

- Optional macOS app integration still prevents official Appshot from working; uninstalling integration restores the official app.
- Automatic Windows Store recovery remains experimental. Its first cold launch after a real Store update is unverified.
- After an official Codex update, fully quit Codex and run `incodex install` against the current package.
